Q: What should I bring with my dog?
A: We reccomend bringing food but other than that we provide everything. You don’t need to bring blankets, toys, bowls or any other supplies. If you forget your food we can feed your pet Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Diet. There will be a fee of $3 per day.

Q: Can my dog play with other dogs?
A: Yes! We do an “interview” on each dog to test their temperment before letting them play with other dogs. We never have more than 3 dogs out at one time to prevent any conflict.

Q: Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
A: Yes. We require a current rabies vaccine, bordetella and distemper/lepto/parvo. We must have a current vaccine report from your vet when dropping off. If you come in and your pet is not up to date on vaccines you have the option to go to Chenoweth Animal Hospital right next door to get vaccines.

Q: What happens in case of an emergency?
A: We are located right next to Chenoweth Animal Hospital. If there is an emergency your dog can be rushed to the clinic for immediate care. If an accident occurs after hour we will take the dog to Metropolitan Emergency.

Q: Is Barks on Bauer accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)?
A: No, right now we aren’t. We have to be in business for 1 year before being able to submit an application for accreditation. We will submit our application in November! In the mean time you can check out our reviews from happy clients on Yelp and Facebook!

Q: What do you do to keep my dog from getting sick?
A: We require that all dogs be fully vaccinated. We ask that if your dog has vomited or had diarrhea in the last 48 hours, or if they have coughed/sneezed/or shown any upper respiratory issues to skip daycare until being checked out by a vet. If your pet starts acting sick (coughing, discharge from eyes/nose, vomiting, diarrhea, etc) we will ask that you or your emergency contact pick them up. We clean all cages with antibacterial cleaner twice daily during your pets stay and again before putting a new pet in their spot. All laundry is cleaned with hypoallergenic detergent to avoid any allergy issues.

Q: How many potty breaks will my dog get?
A: Your dog will go outside several times a day. We rotate them through the 3 areas (living room, play room, outside) throughout the day. If the weather is bad (heavy rain/snow) they will go out 3 times. On nice days they will go out anywhere from 6-8 times.

Q: Do you take cats?
A: Unfortunately at this time we don’t take cats.

Q: My dog is on medication. Can you medicate him?
A: Yes! We will be able to medicate your pets while they stay with us. Please bring all medications in the original bottle from your vet or pharmacy with the dosage instructions on the label.

Q: Can you groom my dog?
A: As of right now we don’t have a groomer. We can bathe your dog but we don’t give haircuts. Our bath prices are as follows:

Small – $15

Medium – $20

Large – $25

X Large – $30

For an additional $20 you can get the deluxe bath which includes a nail trim and anal gland expression.
